USDF All-Breeds

The Jockey Club participates in the USDF All-Breeds Awards. For more information on the USDF All-Breeds Awards, visit https://www.usdf.org/awards/all-breeds/all-breeds.asp. In addition to the USDF's requirements, TJC has a required form, proof of identification, and fee and all horses must have a T.I.P. Number. Please review the information below.

Required Form: Registration for Participation in USDF All-Breeds Awards

Eligibility: For purposes of eligibility, a "Thoroughbred" is defined as any horse that has been registered with The Jockey Club or a foreign Thoroughbred stud book recognized by TJC. In order to prove eligibility, you must provide one of the following:

  1. The Jockey Club Certificate of Foal Registration; or
  2. The Jockey Club Digital Certificate of Foal Registration (horses born in 2018 or later only); or
  3. A T.I.P. eligibility letter. [see instructions on obtaining a T.I.P. Eligiblity Letter below]

How to participate: To participate in USDF All-Breeds, you must:

  1. Complete The Jockey Club T.I.P.'s Registration for Participation in USDF All-Breeds Awards form (click here to download), submit the required photograph(s) and copy of certificate or letter as described on the form, and pay the applicable fee(s); and
  2. Obtain a T.I.P. Number for your horse; and
  3. Declare your horse with the USDF All-Breeds Award Program on the All-Breeds Awards Declaration Form available at www.usdf.org/docs/awards/all-breeds/DeclarationForm.pdf.

Fees:

  • $35 to register with The Jockey Club for USDF All-Breeds
  • $80 one-time fee to DNA type horse (if required, see below)

Obtaining a T.I.P. eligibility letter:
  • If you know your horse’s registered name, with your Registration for Participation in USDF All-Breeds Awards form, submit (i) at least four photos of the whole horse (front, back and each side without blankets, wraps or boots), photos of the tattoo, and if the horse has no white markings, a photo of the face showing the cowlick and photos of the night eyes (chestnuts) on the legs; (ii) complete the horse information; and (iii) submit the $35 fee. If we can verify the horse is a horse we registered, we will issue an eligibility letter for purposes of TIP. If we cannot, DNA typing may be required for an additional fee.
  • If you do not know your horse’s registered name, with your Registration for Participation in USDF All-Breeds Awards form, submit (i) at least four photos of the whole horse (front, back and each side without blankets, wraps or boots), photos of the tattoo, and if the horse has no white markings, a photo of the face showing the cowlick and photos of the night eyes (chestnuts) on the legs; (ii) complete the horse information to the best of your ability, (iii) write any additional information about the horse (possible names, where it came from, etc.) on the back of the form and (iv) submit a $115 fee ($35 for the All-Breeds Program and $80 for DNA typing). If we can verify the horse is a horse we registered, we will issue an eligibility letter for purposes of TIP. Please note, DNA typing is only available for horses born in 2001 or later.

2023 US Dressage Finals
The Jockey Club will be awarding four high score breed awards at the 2023 US Dressage Finals. There will be two high score awards offered for adult amateur riders, one for the national levels (Training through Fourth levels combined) and one for the FEI levels (Prix St. Georges though Grand Prix levels combined). There will also be two high score awards offered for open riders, one for the national levels (Training through Fourth levels combined) and one for the FEI levels (Prix St. Georges though Grand Prix levels combined). There will be one high score award for junior/young riders at the National Levels (Training through Fourth Levels). Results from freestyle and non-championship classes will not be included. Only scores from the US Dressage Finals classes will be used for high score calculations.
